How to utilise Pop ups

Popups are links that, when clicked, display related information in a new pop-up window.

Example of isolated Popup

This is an example of an Old style Popup - it can only reside in a paragraph of its own

Isolated Popup

Example of embedded Popup

This is an example of a cgPopup popup - it can reside either in paragraph on its own or be placed into a sentence

Popups can be used for several purposes, e.g. to provided further contextual information like a glossary. For example, to explain com;icated terms or provide pictoral examples.

Popups can contain both text and media. There are two types of Popups in Wimba Create: embedded Popups (applied through the Interaction menu) and isolated Popups (applied using the cgPopup style). While isolated Popups are easier to insert and edit, embedded Popups are slightly more flexible and may be better suited for certain situations.

Note: Because inserting the Interaction table creates a new paragraph, it is not possible to insert a link to a Popup within a paragraph using this method. If you wish to insert a Popup link within another paragraph, you must use the old-style Popups (see two pages below) that utilize the cgPopup style.
