Anti-Racism Working Group

The Anti-Racism Working Group (ARWG) will take action to support the implementation of the University’s strategic objectives in relation to anti-racism through driving transformational change to dismantle systemic, cultural, and individual forms of racism wherever they exist.

The Anti-Racism Working Group (ARWG) will take action to support the implementation of the University’s strategic objectives in relation to anti-racism through driving transformational change to dismantle systemic, cultural, and individual forms of racism wherever they exist.

The ARWG will lead on the further development and implementation of the priority actions identified by the Anti-Racism Steering Group, holding workstream leads to account and ensuring that the lived experiences of our students and staff continue to shape our approach to anti-racism.

The Group will take action to operationalize the institutional commitment to anti-racism engaging with colleagues as appropriate to ensure that the priorities are translated into meaningful and impactful action.

The Anti-Racism Working Group is mandated to ensure the implementation of our strategic objective to be an anti-racist institution. To support the realisation of this aim we have identified immediate evidence-based institutional priorities that will be supported by a more detailed and evolving institutional anti-racism action plan. The priorities identified are the result of several years of listening to and learning from the experiences of our staff and students, resulting in the co-creation of a framework for action that will lead to long-term and sustainable change – supporting and advancing our university’s strategic commitment to anti-racism.
