LGBTQ+ Events

LGBTQ+ events and awareness days at the University of Bristol.

Bristol Pride

The University of Bristol are proud to support Bristol Pride. A unique and important event that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and offers the chance to connect and bring people together. As well as showcasing our wonderfully diverse community, Pride is about overcoming prejudice, hatred, reducing isolation and showing members of the LGBTQ+ community that they are not alone.

This year, Pride Day is taking place on Saturday 13th July. The University will have a presence at the march, as well as a stall at The Downs. If you would like to attend the march, you can join the LGBTQ+ Staff Network and LGBTQ+ Student Society. They will be meeting just outside the old café in Castle Park which is accessible for wheelchair users and those who require an accessible toilet. The location is as follows:

Please also feel free to pop along to the stall to find out more about the LGBTQ+ work and research that is happening at the University!

LGBTQ+ History Month

LGBTQ+ History Month is an annual month-long celebration of LGBTQ+ history which takes place during the month of February in the UK. LGBTQ+ History Month aims to increase the visibility of LGBTQ+ people, their history and experiences. It is an opportunity to reflect on the progress that has been made for LGBTQ+ rights, whilst also recognising the barriers that still exist and the importance of continuing to fight for equality.
