Facilities Management comprises of a number of operational teams. We provide a range of services to the University, ensuring that our staff and student community are kept safe and feel welcome.
Our Facilities Management team delivers the highest service to academic and professional services staff based within the University's properties, ensuring:
- there is a pro-active facilities management service in every building;
- all areas of each building (regardless of occupier) are properly managed, with particular regard to the provision of Health and Safety systems;
- all building occupiers have access to a responsive and customer-focused Campus Division support network.
Estates Assistants (EA) are based in lodges which are located in the majority of large University buildings. We are responsible for a range of duties including: welcoming visitors, answering building queries, undertaking fire alarm and compliance testing, dealing with access and keys, and liaising with contractors.

Security Services operates 24/7/365 across the entire University Campus. We aim to ensure that staff, students and visitors are provided with a security service that enables teaching, learning, living and recreation to take place in a safe and secure environment. We are committed to being a place where everyone feels safe, welcomed and respected.

Our cleaning staff are responsible for keeping all buildings across the University estate clean.
