On a day to day level, our Building Services team ensures the Campus Division provides a safe and efficient working environment, which is essential to the performance of the University.

About us

We ensure that University buildings and our services provide an environment that supports learning and research. It is imperative that our facilities are operational, available and safe for everyone. Our staff and external contractors undertake a comprehensive maintenance regime to deliver this.

Our team is made up of craft, technical and support staff, including Technicians, Officers, and Direct Labour Operatives. We also employ specialist external contractors. Our work includes:

  • implementing our maintenance programme and minor refurbishment work efficiently and to a high standard;
  • dealing with emergency building repairs;
  • ensuring services are sufficient and robust;
  • risk management;
  • ensuring all University buildings conform with building and Campus Division compliance.

Maintenance Help Desk

The Maintenance Help Desk provides a central point of contact to request work and is open on weekdays from 7 am to 7 pm. Our shift Maintenance team provide a round the clock service guaranteeing an immediate response to any emergency.

Staff can log maintenance requests via SharePoint.
