Green Flag Award
The University's Royal Fort Gardens has been bestowed with a coveted Green Flag Award, officially recognising the gardens as one of the country’s best parks. Well done to our External Estates team for yet another award.

RIBA South West Regional Award
In May, Senate House won the RIBA South West Regional Award for demonstrating an excellent standard of architectural skill, ingenuity and sustainability. Congratulations to our Capital Projects team for their hard work.

Bristol Eating Better Award
Source Catering achieved Gold in the Bristol Eating Better Awards. This was for their dedication to ensuring that there are healthier options on their menu as well as considering the environmental impact.

Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards
The Events Team in Venues & Events were nominated for two awards at the Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards, and won in both categories. They triumphed, winning gold for Business Events Venue of the Year and picked up bronze for Wedding Venue of the Year.

Hedgehog Friendly Campus Awards
Volunteers from across the University achieved gold in the 2021 - 2022 Hedgehog Friendly Campus Awards. Bristol became the only university in the UK to hold a bronze, silver and gold accreditation in the Awards. A special thank you goes to our Gardens and Grounds team who carried out a sizeable portion of the work with help from volunteers.

Green Gown Awards
The Green Gown Awards recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across the world. We're extremely proud to announce that Source Catering have been Highly Commended for Campus Health, Food and Drink for our holistic approach to sustainability, including reduction in single-use plastic and carbon mapping.

Commendation for COVID-19 pandemic response
Campus Division has been awarded a commendation in the Higher Education Business Continuity Network Awards for our COVID-19 pandemic response. A huge congratulations to everyone who has been working hard throughout this difficult time.

Bristol awarded Gold Sustainable Food City status
Bristol has been awarded Gold Sustainable Food City status by Food Places. This recognises the positive work undertaken across the city's food system. Source Catering supported the application through sustainable food practices and initiatives.

Zero Waste Awards
A big well done to Source Catering and Sustainability for all their sustainability initiatives around plastic reduction and reducing single-use packaging. Their work has just been recognised by the National Zero Waste Awards with a three-star rating.

Fair Trade accreditation
A huge congratulations to the University for becoming Fair Trade accredited. Teams from Sustainability, Catering, Procurement, Print Services and Bristol SU worked on this award and achieved the highest score in the 2020-2021 cohort despite COVID challenges.
