Climate Action Plan

Sport, Exercise and Health Climate Action Plan sets out the specific carbon reduction activities that the division is taking to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

Why do we have a Climate Action Plan?

We are facing a global climate and biodiversity emergency. The natural ecosystems we depend upon are under significant and substantial threat and we are already witnessing the consequences of climate change. This Climate Action Plan is the divisions contributions to a net-zero carbon campus.

What is a Climate Action Plan (CAP)?

Sport, Exercise and Health (SEH) Climate Action Plan (CAP) sets out the specific carbon reduction activities that the division is taking to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions. SEH CAP Co-Ordinator is Gordon Aitken and he Chairs a CAP coordinating group responsible for generating the divisions Plan. It is reviewed on an ongoing basis by both the Sustainability Department and the University's Sustainability Implementation and Monitoring Board.  For more information on the University aims to go carbon netural, read their 8 point carbon plan.
