Eating Disorders Awareness
In March 2024, we took action to acknowledge Eating Disorders Awareness Week, commencing with a powerful blog from current medical student and eating disorder campaigner, Helen.
We also worked alongside Helen, and other student advocates with lived experience of eating disorders, to create a best practice guide - from their perspective - on how health professionals can best support people in this situation. This resource was shared with colleagues in Student Health, Counselling and the University's Wellbeing Service.
Finally, we wanted to take some positive action and provide an action-focused resource for anyone concerned about their own relationship with food and/or exercise, and for those who have concerns about others close to them.
