Professional accreditation
A number of our courses qualify for accreditation by professional bodies. In particular:
Royal Statistical Society
The BSc in Mathematics and Statistics, MSci in Mathematics and Statistics and BSc Mathematics with Statistics for Finance, programmes are accredited by the Royal Statistical Society.
Students on these courses are automatically entitled to Graduate Statistician status on application to the RSS, provided they achieve at least Second Class Honours.
Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
Students who receive scores of 60 percent or higher on specific units MATH10013, MATH20800 and MATH30013 qualify for exemption from the CS1 exam of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
Institute of Mathematics and its Applications
Our MSci degrees in Mathematics, Mathematics with Statistics, and Mathematics with Study Abroad all meet the educational requirements for the Chartered Mathematician designation awarded by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
The same is true of our BSc degrees in Mathematics, Mathematics with Statistics, Mathematics with Statistics for Finance, BSc Data Science and BSc Data Science with Year in Industry when they are followed by training and experience in employment to obtain equivalent competencies to those specified by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for taught masters degrees.
