This taught programme will enable you to increase your understanding of mathematical theory. You can select from a wide choice of units to match your interests and get into research with the summer project.

MSc by Research

The MScR enables students to pursue a Masters level degree while having dedicated time for your own research. It is a great option if you are considering doing a PhD but would like a taste of a research-led degree before embarking upon doctoral-level study.

Grundy Educational Trust Awards

The Grundy Educational Trust offers bursaries for University of Bristol postgraduate students studying STEM subjects. The deadline for applications is 30th March 2024.

Martingale Foundation Scholarship Programme

The Martingale Foundation (PDF, 7,103kB) offers a fully funded opportunity to pursue the MSc in Mathematical Sciences and tailored support to apply for a Martingale PhD scholarship. Applicants will be prioritised based on evidence of financial need, academic potential and motivation for postgraduate research. The Bristol Master's Scholarship awards UK postgraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds.

Opportunity Bristol Scholarship

Opportunity Bristol provides financial support to UK students from Black backgrounds to undertake a fully-funded research-related master's degree.

My favourite thing about Bristol is the group of people on my course; it’s a really nice group. It’s a very relaxed city too.

Saïd Foundation Scholarship Programme

Fully funded scholarships for our one-year Masters programmes are available for individuals who hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationality. The University of Bristol is a partner university to the programme. Applicants should apply for their chosen Masters course first and then for the scholarship.  Further information can be found on the Saïd Foundation website.
