Prof. Reza Nejabati has been awarded £180K to deliver the 'Cyber Secure 5G for Digital Manufacturing' project. This is part of the West of England Combined Authority £5M Digital Engineering Technology and Innovation (DETI) strategic programme, which is delivered by the National Composites Centre, in partnership with the Centre for Modelling & Simulation, Digital Catapult, the University of the West of England, the University of Bristol, the University of Bath and a plethora of industry partners (Airbus, GKN Aerospace, Rolls-Royce, CFMS among others).

The DETI programme will deliver 'Enabling Capabilities' to establish digital domain expertise and core reusable technology  (processes, models, tools and infrastructure), and 'Industry Proof of Concepts', where companies will collaborate on projects that address the barriers to digital transformation.

The 'Cyber Secure 5G for Digital Manufacturing' project aims to develop a quantum secured and 5G enabled edge computing platform suitable for digital and smart manufacturing.  It will integrate 5G, Edge Computing with end-to-end quantum secure connectivity services for monitoring and autonomous operations specific to the DETI needs.

This project is being led by Professor Reza Nejabati (Principal Investigator) with contribution from Professor Dimitra Simeonidou (Co-Investigator).
