How to make a third-party payment (family members and friends)

Request a third-party payment link.

Important information about payment system

When third-party payers enter the system, you will be asked to enter the student's surname. You must enter the name in capital letters to be able to proceed.

You must confirm how your tuition fees will be paid and make any required payments. This is part of your registration as a student at the University of Bristol.

If a family member or friend is paying your tuition fees, they must make the payment during the registration period.

For payment deadlines, read our  When to pay your fees page

How to make a third-party payment

  1. Complete your registration.
  2. Access your financial statement and select "Send a third-party payment link".
  3. Select the invoice you want to pay and enter the payer’s email address.
  4. A secure, single-use payment link will be sent to the payer.
  5. To access the link, the payer must enter your surname (family name) and date of birth.
  6. The payer can then make the payment through Flywire. Flywire is the University’s official payment service provider.
  7. The payment link can only be used once and must be used before the expiry date and time shown in the email.

If the payment link expires or has already been used, select the "Send a third-party payment link". This can be found on your financial statement and will generate a new link.

Important notice

Do not use your student account (eVision) while the payer is making their payment. If you do, both you and the payer will be logged out and the payment process will need to be started again. If this happens, generate a new payment link from your financial statement.

This option is only for payments made by family members or friends. If a sponsor is paying your fees, follow the guidance for sponsored students instead:
