Meta-analysis highlights best pain control strategy after lower limb amputation

A research team including CSR member Graeme Ambler investigated the effectiveness of perineural catheters on post-operative pain, post-operative morphine requirement, in-hospital mortality, long term phantom limb pain, and chronic stump pain.

Their paper in The European Journal of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery demonstrates significant benefits for using this method.
