Industrial Advisory Board
The School of Mathematics' Industrial Advisory Board was formed in 2019 to support and advise on the School's approach to developing its links with industry. Board members are drawn from public and private sector industries and bring a wide range of experience. The Board has helped establish a progressive Industrial Engagement Strategy for the School of Mathematics in partnership with our academic community.
Our vision
To establish an identity as a leading UK mathematics department for industrial collaborations.
Our strategic goals
1. Enhance the School’s visibility and reputation within industry
where the quality and contribution of its research, and the standard and relevance of students’ training, is widely promulgated and highly valued.
2. Increase our activity with industry
at all careers stages to establish new links and extend existing ones, resulting in substantial, long-term and mutually beneficial collaborations.
3. Establish a strategic focus on how we engage with industry
whilst maintaining and growing the School's activities in fundamental research, which will always be at the core of everything we do.
4. Supporting staff to develop their own new industrial activities
such as spin outs and consultancy as well as engaging with existing organisations.
