To support library users who cannot return items in person, the University of Bristol Library Service is offering a pre-paid postal book return service.
Returning in person
Our libraries are now open and accepting returns. If you are based in or near Bristol, the quickest and easiest way to return your items may be to return them to our libraries in person. Please check the following webpage for library opening hours and locations: http://bristol.ac.uk/library/locations-opening/
All returned items will be quarantined for three days before library staff remove them from your library account.
Returning by post
We understand that, for a variety of reasons, travel into Bristol may not always be possible.
All UK-based University of Bristol staff, students and external library members can use our pre-paid postal returns service: ClickSit Collect+ returns. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer an international returns service; if you need to return library books and are based outside of the UK please contact us to discuss your circumstances: email@example.com .
How to use our pre-paid return service
Click on the following link and enter your email address to generate a returns label: https://www.clicksit.com/bristol/
Pack books securely. There is a maximum weight limit per parcel of 10kg and the size of each parcel should not exceed 60cmx50cmx50cm. If you have several heavy items to return you may need to send them in a couple of smaller parcels rather than one large parcel. Remember that each parcel you send will need a label and you will need to provide your own packing materials.
Attach the label and take it to your nearest drop off point. There are over 7500 Collect+ drop off points across the county. To find your nearest drop off point click on the ‘Track’ button in the email that has been sent to you.
Drop off the parcel at your preferred Collect+ point and you will be given a receipt. Please retain this as this is your proof of return. Once the books arrive back on campus they will be quarantined for three days before being removed from your library account.
