OH-STAR - One Health Selection and Transmission of Antimicrobial Resistance

The OH-STAR project takes an interdisciplinary One Health approach which involves drawing researchers from different disciplines and backgrounds together to examine human, veterinary and environmental health.

We will investigate antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the environment, animals and people, looking at how AMR is acquired and how it is spread.oh star logo small

The overall aim of OH-STAR is to identify whether transmission of AMR from animals to people is a significant source for carriage of AMR in people when compared to that resulting from antimicrobial prescribing in human medicine.‌

OH-STAR is funded by the Antimicrobial Resistance Cross Council Initiative supported by the seven United Kingdom research councils (grant number NE/N01961X/1).
