Project Outline

Over the next three years we will be assessing osteoarthritis pain mechanisms in dogs. This is the first step towards enabling us to provide personalised pain relief to dogs suffering from chronic pain.

Aims

  1. To increase our knowledge about pain related to osteoarthritis in dogs
  2. Investigate the relationship between pain patterns in osteoarthritis and pain mechanisms and translate the idea of personalized pain therapy from people to dogs.
  3. Ultimately to improve the treatment of pain for dogs with this condition.

This project is being run and supported by a team of researchers who bring a wide range of skills and knowledge to the study. To find out more about the people involved in the project, see our researchers page.
