Coronavirus: Ways to keep active during the lockdown

New B:Active at Home programme

Finding ways to stay active have never been more important to our mental and physical health than during these challenging times.  You may be lucky enough to have some outside space to exercise in, or you may be restricted to staying indoors.  We hope that whatever your circumstances, our new B:Active at Home programme will offer something for everyone.  It's open to all our students, staff and the entire #WeAreBristol community.

Our new B:Active at Home timetable offers you suggested activities for you to do each day to keep healthy during the lockdown, with our lovely instructors filming classes from their homes, Les Mills workouts, and a couch-to-5k plan for you to follow.  Please don't feel you have to do everything, every day, think of it as more of a 'serving suggestion', and fit these activities around your routine during the week.

We'll be publishing updated timetables each week so lookout for new videos and exclusive #STAYINWORKOUT content.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): advice for students and staff

The latest advice and updates from the University

Outdoor Tennis - Coombe Dingle

We are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening our outdoor tennis courts at Coombe Dingle Sports Complex from June 15th.

We have been working hard to re-open Coombe Dingle Sports Complex safely and will be adhering to the University of Bristol Campus guidance for reopening facilities and the guidance provided to venues by the LTA, in relation to playing tennis. This will include social distancing, encouraging hand hygiene and adhering to the tennis lockdown advice (signage will provide additional reminders on site).  Please watch our video detailing a few things about reopening on our outdoor tennis courts.

Our outdoor tennis courts will be available for public hire from Monday to Friday 10am - 2pm at a cost of £8 per court, per booking (50 minutes). Bookings will be limited to one session per booker per day and bookings can be made up to seven days in advance. To make a booking please following this link to our website.

You will be required to adhere to the LTA player guidelines whilst playing tennis at Coombe Dingle Sports Complex. In addition to the LTA player guidelines you will only be able to play with a maximum of four players per court either with members of your own household or members from a different household. Please familiarise yourself with these guidelines before proceeding to make a booking.
