Introduction to Research Grant Applications: Health and Life Sciences

The Research Development Team (based within RED) will be running a Workshop titled “Introduction to Research Grant Applications” which will be offered to colleagues within the Faculties of Health and Life Sciences.

This will take place via Zoom over two sessions, Monday 12 July 10:00 – 11:00 AND Tuesday 20 July 14:00 – 15:00. Ideally you would attend both sessions.

This workshop will give you an introductory overview and will explore the following topics:

  • types of grants available for your discipline
  • the funding environment
  • what you need to take into account when choosing a funder
  • the basic anatomy of a grant application
  • the research funding application and assessment process
  • what support is available to you within the University

This workshop is aimed at those new to applying for research funding and who plan to submit a proposal during the next year or so.
