Physics Education Group
The Physics Education Group (PEG) aims are to engage in pedagogic research to inform the teaching of physics at Bristol and beyond and to ensure that teaching, especially undergraduate teaching, at Bristol is informed by the latest research evidence. PEG's group members teach at all levels from foundation year to masters level and come from a wide range of research backgrounds.
The Physics Education Group is made up of approx. 12 academic colleagues whose main focus is on teaching within the School, however also take an active interest and role in pedogogic research to benefit the School's curriculum and teaching outputs.
We have a range of interests including:
- Threshold concepts in physics
- Transition from school to university and are participating in the BEST (Belonging and Engagement for Successful Transition) study
- The use of evolving technology in teaching and assessment
- Outreach and engagement to local and national schools and the public
