Sean Dewar witness to World Record

14 March 2025

The School of Maths' Sean Dewar was a witness for a Guiness World Record, in anticipation of Pi day on 14 March.

Sean was an independent witness for a Guinness World Record for most digits of Pi recited in a minute. Sean was involved because Guinness decided that an actual mathematician was needed as a witness.

The record for most decimal places of Pi recalled in one minute was achieved by 10-year-old Alberto Davila Aragon in Bristol, on 20 February 2025, who recalled 280 places!
