University of Bristol team win three silver medals at the International Mathematics Competition for University Students (IMC) 2024

The 31st IMC 2024 took place in Bulgaria, where the team from Bristol improved upon previous years’ success, with an impressive 3 silver medals.

The team consisted of Artem Borisov (1st year undergraduate in Mathematics and Computer Science), Omri Simon (4th year undergraduate in Mathematics), Thammadol Tansrivorarat (2nd year undergraduate in Mathematics and Computer Science), Samson Main (3rd ye​‌ar undergraduate in Mathematics and Computer Science), with Besfort Shala as their team leader.

Artem, Omri and Thammadol received silver medals, and Samson received an Honorable Mention. This is an improvement upon last year’s result of 3 bronze medals.

The IMC is one of the most important international mathematics competitions for university students, in which students from prestigious universities from all over the world participate.
