Five papers by Bristol Researchers and Students have been accepted at the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) this year. The ICML 2024 will be held in Vienna.

Last year saw success for students and researchers at Institute of Statistical Science at the NeurIPS conference, and they continue to publish papers at top AI conferences in 2024.

This year, the Institute has five papers accepted at International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML). They are:
  • Song Liu., Jiahao Yu., Jack Simons, Mingxuan Yi., Mark Beaumont., "Minimizing $f$-Divergences by Interpolating Velocity Fields".
  • Louis Sharrock*, Jack Simons*, Song Liu, Mark Beaumont, "Sequential Neural Score Estimation: Likelihood-Free Inference with Conditional Score Based Diffusion Models". *Equal contribution
  • Jen Ning Lim, Juan Kuntz, Samuel Power, Adam Johansen, "Momentum Particle Maximum Likelihood".
  • Anish Dhir, Samuel Power, Mark van der Wilk, "Causal Discovery using Bayesian Model Selection".
  • Daniel Dodd, Louis Sharrock, Chris Nemeth, "Learning-Rate-Free Stochastic Optimization over Riemannian Manifolds".
Among those authors:
  • Jack Simons and Mingxuan Yi are PhD students at Institute of Statistical Science.
  • Jiahao Yu is a third year BSc in Data Science student.
  • Sam Power, Mark Beaumont, Louis Sharrock, and Song Liu are researchers at Institue of Statistical Science.
Along with NeurIPS and ICLR, ICML is one of the three primary conferences of high impact in machine learning and artificial intelligence research.
