A recruiting manager’s guide to reasonable adjustments

All candidates, internal and external, can request adjustments to any stage of the recruitment process to alleviate a disadvantage due to a disability. In practice, this means taking reasonable steps to reduce or remove barriers that could negatively impact a disabled applicant’s performance.

It is the recruiting manager’s responsibility to implement reasonable adjustments to support candidates at interview. This also extends to cover members of the interview panel who may themselves require adjustments.

Candidates request adjustments through the Resourcing team, which are then shared with the recruiting manager. The Resourcing Team will also provide advice on how to implement the adjustments where necessary.

Information on types of adjustments can be found in: Reasonable Adjustments for applicants.
