Acknowledging the facility
It is important that the GW4 Facility for High-Resolution Electron Cryo-Microscopy is acknowledged appropriately in papers, posters, and talks. You can find information on when it is necessary to acknowledge the GW4 Facility for High-Resolution Electron Cryo-Microscopy in the facility’s terms and conditions.
A failure to properly acknowledge the GW4 Cryo-EM Facility may result in a restriction of your access.
Tips on writing an acknowledgment
- Include facility staff as co-authors if they have made a significant contribution to your research project.
- In instances of small or routine contributions, an acknowledgment is appropriate.
- All publications using data acquired in the facility should acknowledge the facility and any staff who have specifically contributed.
How to word your acknowledgement
When you acknowledge the GW4 Cryo-EM Facility, we would appreciate following wording:
“We acknowledge access and support of the GW4 Facility for High-Resolution Electron Cryo-Microscopy, funded by the Wellcome Trust (202904/Z/16/Z and 206181/Z/17/Z) and BBSRC (BB/R000484/1).”
Depositing maps and models
When depositing a map or model that was generated from data acquired at the GW4 Cryo-EM Facility to the Electron Microscopy Data Bank (EMDB) or the Protein Data Bank (PDB), the GW4 Cryo-EM Facility should be annotated in the corresponding annotation fields.
