Things to do checklist
Follow our checklist of things to do before your ceremony and on the day itself, to help with your planning and preparation for your graduation
Before the day
Complete the registration form when you receive your invitation email - the deadline for registering for July 2025 graduation is to be confirmed. Check that your name is recorded correctly on the form, as this is how it will appear in the graduation programme and on your certificate.
Read all the July 2025 graduation information on the Graduation website, including our terms and conditions.
Name pronunciation - if your name is often mispronounced, contact graduation-office@bristol.ac.uk with a phonetic version of your name to assist the reader to announce it correctly (if you have not already provided it on the registration form).
Contact graduation-office@bristol.ac.uk to discuss any accessibility requirements (if you have not already indicated a requirement on the registration form).
Request a visa support letter, if required to assist you and your guests in travelling to attend your graduation.
Make sure any outstanding tuition fees are paid in full by the required date - for July 2025 graduation fees must be paid in full by Monday 9 June. see Eligibility for further details.
Order your gown and hat when registration opens - The deadline for ordering your gown and hat online from our official supplier for July 2025 graduation is 5 pm on Tuesday 2 July 2025.

Familiarise yourself with what to expect at your ceremony.
Check that you are eligible to graduate - confirmation and guest ticket details will be sent to you around a week before your ceremony if so.
Print out your guest tickets for your guests to show for entry to the Wills Memorial Building on the day - see the Tickets page for details.
On the day
Collect your own graduand ticket from the Richmond Building - see the Tickets page for details.
Collect your gown from the Richmond Building.
Have official photographs taken at the Richmond Building, either before or after your ceremony (optional).
Purchase a graduation film, clip of your conferral or other memorabilia from the stalls at the Richmond Building or online, if you would like a memento of your day - see the Photography, films and other merchandise page for details
Return your gown at the drop-off point at either the Wills Memorial Building or the Richmond Building, by the deadline given in the timetables for the day information.
