Timetable for 10:30 am ceremonies

For July 2025 graduands only

Find out where you need to be and when throughout the day for your 10:30 am ceremony.

Time What happens
 8 am

Ticket collection opens for graduand tickets at the Victoria Rooms.  You can collect your ticket any time from 8 am, to fit in with the time you must be seated in the Great Hall for your ceremony.

Guest tickets are sent by email about one week before the ceremony.

From 8 am

Robing room opens for gown collection at the Victoria Rooms. You can collect your gown any time from 8 am, to fit in with the time you must be seated in the Great Hall for your ceremony.  Only the graduand should go to the gown collection area. 

From 8 am

The official photography service opens at the Victoria Rooms. You can have photos taken at any time from 8 am, to fit in with other commitments on the day.

9:30 to 9:45 am

Graduands can take their seats in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building. Graduands must be seated by 9:45 at the latest.

9:50 to 10:10 am

Guests can take their seats in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building. If you do not have a ticket for the Great Hall you can watch the ceremony at our live screening in the Victoria Rooms, or watch live online.

10:30 am

The ceremony starts. Latecomers will not be admitted. You can find out what to expect during the ceremony.

11:45 am approx

The ceremony ends. We recommend arranging a meeting place a short distance away from the exit point as the area will be very busy.

6:30 pm

The official photography service closes. 
7 pm Deadline for the return of hired gowns. Gowns can be returned to the drop-off points at the Victoria Rooms, or the Wills Memorial Building.

The rest of your day

Providing you collect your graduand ticket, pick up and drop off your gown and arrive at the Great Hall at the required time for your ceremony, you are free to spend your day as you wish.

Some schools may hold their own additional celebrations which they will invite you to separately.  You should contact your school if you have any questions about these events.

Veterinary Science and Veterinary Nursing students will also attend the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons admission ceremony at Langford.  See the RCVS ceremony page for information.

MBChB Promise and prize-giving

The Bristol MBChB Promise will be made by all MBChB students as part of the graduation ceremony at 10:30 am on Tuesday 8 July in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building.  the printed text will be provided to graduands at the ceremony and, following the conferment of all student awards, MBChB students will stand and recite the Promise in front of their guests.  The ceremony will then resume with speeches of congratulation.
