Beyond 5G & 6G

The HPN Group has a successful track record on development and experimental demonstration of key technologies for beyond 5G and 6G.  Building on its research track record, the HPN Group has developed a research activities' portfolio for development of beyond 5G and 6G technologies including:

  • Ultimate zero-touch, Machine Synthesizable and Machine Operated Network Orchestration: A fully autonomous multi-domain and end-to-end network service orchestration utilising AI that can not only autonomously synthesize complex network service and configure the infrastructure but also it can but also operate them
  • Adaptive Infrastructure Slicing: application-aware, adaptive and programmable end-to-end cross layer and cross technology infrastructure slicing
  • Edge Computing: Network and application aware edge computing utilising adaptive and programmable edge network interfaces for convergence of optical, wireless and IT infrastructures supporting ultra-low latency and high bandwidth applications
  • End-to-End Monitoring and Profiling: End-to-end monitoring system supporting cross layer and cross technologies (optical, wireless and IT infrastructures) with the capability to predict and profile performance of network services under various infrastructure and application conditions
  • Open Network in a Box: Open, software defined, hardware programmable and virtualizable network in a box for convergence of optical, wireless and IT infrastructures
  • Human Centric Intent based Networking: Abstraction, translation and interfacing methods for next generation Intent based Networking taking into account human user intent
  • Ultra Secure Network Infrastructure: Quantum security and network coding for end-to-end secure 5G networks
  • Converged of Quantum and Classical Computing: Quantum accelerated data centre, Quantum cloud computing, Quantum data centre, Quantum computing interconnect, Quantum computing at the edge
