Equity, diversity and inclusion

The School of Chemistry is committed to providing a positive working environment for all staff and students. We actively promote the career development of under-represented and minority groups in science.

The links from this site provide information about how the School and the University of Bristol support women, GEM, LGBT+ and disabled students and staff to achieve their full potential.

The School of Chemistry is an Athena SWAN Bronze award holder and we are continuing to review and update our working practices to ensure all staff and students are well supported in their work and study.

It is incredibly important to work with colleagues and to be able to share your passion for your subject with students. It's equally important that everyone is given the support that they need to pursue their ambitions, scientifically and professionally.

Report and Support

Bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, assault and discrimination are not acceptable. Students and staff can report something anonymously or get advice.

Acceptable Workplace Behaviour Advisory Service

The University has a network of trained volunteers who provide an informal advisory service to staff who feel they may be experiencing unacceptable behaviour, bullying or harassment at work. The Advisors help people accused of unacceptable behaviour as well as those who are unhappy with behaviour.
