How would you sum up your experience?

Completing my BSc in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Bristol was an incredible experience. The course was really interesting, with a broad choice of units that really allowed me to focus on the areas that intrigued me the most. Throughout the three years of my degree I got to develop my critical skills, as well as learn various laboratory techniques, through really high quality teaching, including lectures, workshops and labs. Studying Biomedical Sciences gave me the opportunity to challenge myself whist learning more about areas of science that interest me.

What were the staff like?

The staff were always really supportive, friendly and open to help! The lecturers were incredibly supportive and approachable, delivering really high quality teaching and would always be encouraging and helpful when approached with questions about the content. My supervisor was great, and always happy to help and support me with my research, and was always keen to engage in conversations, really showing the passion and interest in her research.

How did your degree influence what you went on to do next?

After finishing my degree in Biomedical Sciences, I went on to do a PGCE in Primary and Early Years. Through my degree I developed a passion for science, and I am now able to use this knowledge to incorporate science more in a primary classroom setting. It has really inspired me to find different ways to engage students in science! I feel well equipped with analytical and critical skills that I developed during my degree, and I am looking forward to starting my Masters in Inclusive Education.
