Summer Graduation 2023

It was fantastic to celebrate with our graduates for the Cellular and Molecular Medicine and Biomedical Sciences programmes along with their families and friends.

The graduation celebration was held on Monday 31 July at the Bristol Beacon in the heart of the city centre, some extra atmosphere was provided with a string quartet, with students from the Department of Music at the university.

The Head of School, Professor Anne Ridley and Programme Directors Professor's Ann Pullen and Ann Williams, led the celebrations with speeches and presented prizes to some of our highest achieving graduates:

BSc and MSci Cellular and Molecular Medicine Graduate prizes:

  • MSci Prize (for the top student of the order of merit) – shared between: Rebecca Collinson, Evelyn Blake, Charlotte Reston
  • BSI Prize (the British Society for Immunology prize for the best student going on to further study or a PhD in Immunology) – Jessica Hibbert
  • Cellular and Molecular Medicine Prize (for the student top of the order of merit) - Hiu Ying Monique Wai
  • John Grant Prize (for the student top of the order of merit after completion of at least two years in the School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine) - Henry Stuttaford
  • Lucy Brown Cancer Prize (for a student proceeding with post-graduate work in a Cancer related topic) - Millie Robinson
  • Cellular and Molecular Medicine Prize (for the top project) - Hiu Ying Monique Wai
  • Anna Mayr-Harting and Max Russ Research Project Prize (for the most independent and imaginative research project) - Frank Williams
  • School Citizen Prize - Cristian Voiculescu

BSc Biomedical Sciences Graduate prizes:

  • Biomedical Sciences BSc prize, Year 3 (Biomedical Sciences Prize (for the final year Biomedical Sciences student with the highest overall average mark) - Abigail Brennan
  • Biomedical Sciences Prize for the top Biomedical Sciences Project   (for the Biomedical Sciences student with the highest project mark in year - Abigail Brennan
  • Biomedical Sciences Citizen Prize (BMS) - Markella Syrgkani
