Dr. Xiaolan Liu is a lecturer (assistant professor) of AI for networks in Smart Internet at school of School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, and BDFI at University of Bristol.
Dr. Xiaolan Liu was a Lecturer at Loughborough University from 2021-2024. She is also a visiting research scholar at King’s College London (KCL) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). She was a research associate in KCL from August 2020 to July 2021, and she received her PhD degree from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in July 2021.
Her current research interests include distributed learning in networks, reinforcement learning in edge computing, and trustworthy AI.
She has published more than 30 journal and conference papers in these areas with the H-index of 17. She serves as the editor for IEEE Network Magazine, IEEE Wireless Communication Letters and IEEE Journal Internet of Things, and the symposium chair for IEEE ICC 2025. She is a member of IEEE, IEEE Communication Society and IEEE Women in Engineering.
