NPD User Group

The NPD User Group supports users of the National Pupil Database (NPD) through organising meetings which focus on new data developments, analysis and research findings, and provide an opportunity to meet other users.

Previously (2006-2014), the group was called the PLASC/NPD Users’ Group (PLUG) where PLASC refered to the Pupil Level Annual School Census.

Funding

The NPD User Group is run with financial assistance from the Department for Education (DfE), the owners and managers of the data. Previously the group was jointly funded by the DfE and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

Organisers

The NPD User Group is currently organised by Dave Thomson Chief statistician at FFT and George Leckie, Professor of Social Statistics at the Centre for Multilevel Modelling. Previously it was organsied by Rebecca Allen, Professor in Economics of Education at the Institute of Education, and George leckie (2014-2018). The group was set up and first organised by Simon Burgess, Director of the Centre for Market and Public Organisation (CMPO) and  Harvey Goldstein, Professor of Social Statistics at the Centre for Multilevel Modelling (2006-2013).
