Bristol Teaching Awards

The Bristol Teaching Awards (BTAs) recognise and celebrate individual staff and teams (both academic and professional services) who have made an outstanding contribution to teaching, the provision of support for students' learning, and/or enhancement of the student learning experience.

Award categories and nomination criteria

Nominations for 2024 have no closed. Thank you to everyone who nominated in this year's Bristol Teaching Awards. We are delighted to announce over 1,000 nominations were received from across our community, celebrating the exceptional work and efforts of colleagues and teams and their role in making Bristol a leading institution for learning and the student experience. All nominees have now been notified. We can't wait to share our shortlisted nominees with you in the coming weeks. The 2024 award categories include:

Nomination principles

  • Nominations are anonymous 
  • Self-nominations are not eligible 
  • Winners from the past 3 years are not eligible for shortlisting 
  • Duplicate nominations will be ignored 
  • Read Guidance for nominators for more info  

BTA Timeline 2024

4 March, 9am - Nominations open.

25 March, 9am - Nominations close.

15 April – Nominations announced (nominees will be notified by email).

13 May – Shortlist announced.

5 June – Winners announced.
