Sutton Trust Programmes

From 2025, we will continue to collaborate closely with the Sutton Trust to promote their programmes and support students in the South West to access the Sutton Trust online provisions.

If you are a previous University of Bristol Sutton Trust participant, we will continue to provide application and transition support to enable you to access the University of Bristol. To access this support, please contact Josh via suttontrust-summerschool@bristol.ac.uk

Although not available at the University of Bristol, you can continue to apply to other institutions’ Sutton Trust Summer School programmes on their website from early January.

The Sutton Trust also run various ‘Pathways’ programmes designed to give an insight into a specific career. Applications are typically open between September and early December and can be found on the Sutton Trust website.

Guaranteed contextual offer

We are committed to attracting the very best students and hold Sutton Trust Summer School participants in high regard. As such, alumni of the University of Bristol Sutton Trust Summer School programme will continue to be eligible for our Guaranteed Contextual Offer or Interview. This applies for 2 years after completion of our programme.

For most courses, successfully completing the Sutton Trust Summer School at the University of Bristol guarantees you an offer at the contextual level, providing that you meet the full entry requirements of the course applied for. Students undertaking the appropriate subjects but not predicted the contextual offer will usually be made an aspirational offer.

If the course holds interviews as part of the selection process, you will be guaranteed an interview (for example, Medicine or Dentistry). The interview will only be guaranteed if your predicted grades meet the contextual entry requirements and you meet the GCSE subject requirements.
