Cost of living support

Financial worries can be a struggle but please don’t ignore money troubles or debt as there is a wide range of support available to help you save money and manage your budget.

This page will be updated as more support and advice becomes available.

If you are having financial difficulties, you can apply for help through our Financial assistance fund. The fund is open to all students.

You can find advice and guidance about managing your money on the Student finances webpage. If you need more help, contact our Student Services team who can connect you with the support you need.

Around campus you can find study spaces, some of which can be booked in advance, and social spaces such as the SU Living Room and SU Loft in Senate House.

If you are looking for part-time work you can search for vacancies through the Careers Service and the Bristol SU

If you are struggling to engage with your studies because of access to IT equipment or connectivity you may be able to get help through our Digital support fund

Check out a range of cheaper hot food options from Monday 18 September 2023. Just show your U-card  

  • £1 soup & roll: available at all Source Cafés on campus. (Note that this option is not available at the Senate House Marketplace).
  • £2.50 for a hot meal: available in the Balloon bar in the Richmond building and from the hatch in the Hawthorne's study space.
  • Cheaper hot food options: available from the Source Café at the Hiatt Baker bus hub. Options include a jacket potato and beans for £2.20 (£2.50 with cheese).

These offers will also be available at the community cafe in Langford.
