Charity Knitting and Crochet Session for QMCG

11 July 2017, 5.00 PM - 11 July 2017, 8.00 PM

Come join our staff knitting group at the Brambles from 5pm-8pm on Tuesday 11th July, where we will be getting together to knit for charity. Armed with knitting needles and crochet hooks we will be creating a variety of items for Queen Mother's Clothing Guild (QMCG). The QMCG are primarily looking for hats, scarves and gloves for all ages (especially for boys and men), leg warmers, cardigans, bed socks, etc. A full list of preferred items can be found here.

All knitters/crafters are welcome, from beginner to those of you with more experience, staff or student. Pop along armed with your needles or hooks and some wool - please look at the link above for details of what type of wool and colours to use for the particular item you are looking to make.

If you don't have your own there will be a selection of needles, crochet hooks, wool & scissors available on the day.

All the items made in/for the session will be passed on to a local QMCG group here in Bristol before the next collection date in August/September.

If you would like to make some items beforehand there are loads of free patterns available online (Pinterest is a good source to check). Also, if you have a stash of scarves, etc. that you've made but didn't know who to give to then please bring these to the session as well to add to the pile of donations.

Additionally if you are unable to make this session but would still like to get creative, you can send any completed items in the internal mail to Cat Martin, Health Sciences Finance (please don't send in partially finished items as we won't be able to complete them for you). We don't have an exact date for collection of the items by QMCG yet, but are setting Friday 4th August as a rough deadline so that we can get things gathered in plenty of time.
