Karen Tucker has a photography exhibition inviting viewers to reconsider the purpose and value of reforestation.

24 October 2023

The exhibition is part of the 2023 ESRC Festival of Social Science showing at the Vestibules, Park Street, Bristol

Reforestation has been heavily promoted in recent years as a response to the climate crisis. Many reforestation schemes only see trees as a means to remove carbon from the atmosphere, disregarding the role of forests as repositories of water, biodiversity and diverse knowledge traditions. Building on research with indigenous Mapuche Pehuenche communities in Chile, this photography exhibition invites visitors to reconsider the purpose and value of reforestation, and the knowledges in which it should be rooted.

Karen's exhibition will take place from 10am - 4pm on Saturday 11th November and Sunday 12th November at

The Vestibules, Park Street, City Council, College Green, Bristol, BS1 5TR
