Terrell Carver and Smail Rapic (Bergische-Universität Wuppertal) have edited Friedrich Engels for the 21st Century: Reflections and Revaluations (Palgrave, 2022). The nineteen critical essays in the volume are the work of scholars from Germany, USA, UK, Italy, China, India, Mexico and the Philippines. The book derives from a conference held (in person!) in Engels’s hometown in February 2020. It is unique in the field for its global reach and the collaborative participation of German- and English-speaking scholars. There is a companion volume Zur Aktualität von Friedrich Engels (Suhrkamp Verlag, 2020) including anglophone items in German translation. Some contributors to the volume presented draft chapters at the annual conference of the Royal Geographical Society in September 2021.
