Dr Alix Dietzel, Lecturer in Global Ethics at SPAIS, has been selected as the new co-lead for the Cabot Institute Environmental Change Steering Group. The Cabot Institute harnesses and directs the expertise of our 600-strong academic community, developing practical, interdisciplinary solutions that both improve how we live in our world and enable us to face the challenges arising from our interactions with the environment. Theme leaders play a vital role in building communities of engaged researchers and devising strategy for their theme and Cabot Institute as a whole. The Environmental Change Theme dissects the effects that humans are having on society and Earth's systems, revealing the rapidly changing character of the planet and its inhabitants.  With over 200 members, we research all aspects of our changing planet from land, sea, ice, and air – from the wilderness to the cities, human to the physical, from local to global and from the ancient past to the future. We work with governments, non-governmental organisations and industry to provide advice and set the political agenda.
