Visit days

‌If you receive an offer from us, you will be invited to one of our School of Physics visit days which take place between February and May. You will have the opportunity to delve into student life here at the School of Physics, and learn more about what makes Bristol a great place to study.

Our School of Physics visit days take place between February and May. During your session with us, you will have the opportunity to meet with Physics lecturers who can discuss their research with you and explain your course in detail so you can build a clear picture of how we teach and what you will study. You will also have an opportunity to talk with members of our admissions team who can answer your questions on studying a specific subject area.

The tour with a current student will show you the facilities you will use, including our undergraduate laboratories and teaching spaces. A laboratory experiment will give you a chance to see Physics in action. Later, the student-led talk will give you the chance to chat to current students and ask any questions you may have about student life in Bristol. We hope that your visit day will help you confirm that Bristol is the right university for you.

Frequently asked questions

Parents and carers

Parents or carers are welcome to join you on your visit day although some of the activities are solely for applicants. You can find out more information about this on your schedule which will help you to plan your day.

Visit days are great fun, both for the applicants and us! I love showing off the department, and telling applicants how awesome it is being a student at Bristol. I think the fact that the applicants remember their tour guides (and vice versa) really shows how much everyone enjoys visit days, and how good an insight they give into what it’s like to study at Bristol.
