The group was led by Professor Tom Scott and included Yannick Verbelen, Freddie Russell-Pavier, Johnny Teague and Dean Connor, all from the Interface Analysis Centre.
The researchers spoke to primary school children from Southville School about different types of robots and demonstrated some more unusual designs, such as crawler and submersible machines, explaining why these are useful for dangerous environments.
Nuclear Iron Man
The centrepiece of the visit was the 'nuclear iron man' suit, which entertained the children whilst also introducing the idea of a full-body, technologically-enhanced protective suit for hazardous nuclear conditions.
