2nd yr PhD student Laura Fox spent a day with the Southwest Ambulance Service in a project which saw several BCFN students shadowing various staff within the NHS.
The aim was for students to identify areas in which Nanoscience could potentially solve existing problems. Other areas in which our students were placed included the Bristol Heart Institute, the Intensive Care Unit at the BRI and the Orthopaedics department at Southmead Hospital. The project, set up in partnership with the Elizabeth Blackwell Institute, was deemed to be a great success both by the students who took part and the staff involved.
