Paper published from final year undergraduate research

24 March 2014

Based on last year's final year undergraduate project work, a paper has been published in an international journal.

Research by undergraduate students David Billington, Simon Nickau, Tom Farley, Jack Ward, Rosie Sperring and Tom Millichamp has been published in the international Journal of the Physical Society of Japan. The work was carried out with PhD student David Ernsting and supervisor, Dr Stephen Dugdale.

Tom Millichamp, now a PhD student, said: "It’s been immensely exciting and rewarding to see that research undertaken in a final year project can be been turned into a scientific paper in an international journal. It’s been the perfect way to finish my degree and the springboard for starting my PhD in the group."
