The Centre for Quantum Photonics (CQP) is a world-leading research centre, established to develop future quantum technologies and the fundamental science that underpins them.  We are looking to recruit a high calibre individual to manage the operational research activity related to the research undertaken within the centre.  You will have day-to-day responsibility for the smooth running and organisation of the centre and will contribute to the strategic direction of the centre by supporting the centre director Prof Jeremy O’Brien.

You will be well organised, highly numerate and have excellent and demonstrable problem solving skills; a good first degree in science or engineering is essential and a postgraduate qualification in either discipline is highly desirable.  You will be responsible for line management of a growing team of support staff and will work closely with academic and postdoctoral staff; excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed-term or an open-ended contract depending on the extent of your previous relevant research experience. Three years’ appropriate and relevant experience at another higher education institution would normally lead to an appointment on an open-ended contract.
