Pointwise Ergodic Theory and Connections, II
Modern pointwise ergodic theory developed largely out of the work of Bourgain in the late 80s and early 90s, but recent efforts over the past 10 years have seen the field develop in new directions, as questions involving pointwise convergence have come to factor through methods in Additive Combinatorics, Dynamical Systems, and Harmonic Analysis – and often combinations thereof. The aim of this conference is to bring together experts in these fields to promote interdisciplinary collaboration; there will be three talks each morning, with afternoons free to facilitate mathematical discussion. This conference is the second in the series, "Pointwise Ergodic Theory and Connections," and is partially funded by a Conference Grant, and by Professor. Krause's EPSRC New Investigator Award and ERC Start-up Grant.
