Theatre of Black Women

Theatre of Black Women (1982-1988) was Britain's first Black women's theatre company.

Founded by Bernardine Evaristo, Patricia Hilaire and Paulette Randall, the collective met as students at Rose Bruford College in the early 80s.

Theatre of Black Women produced plays by and about Black British women focussing on issues such as Black women in education, health, housing, and the arts.
