Buddy Bradley
Buddy Bradley (1905-1972) was an African-American dancer, choreographer and teacher. He was described as having the "reputation of being the greatest teacher of stage dancing in the country - if not the world" (Radio Times, 24/9/1943) and even taught Fred and Adele Astaire!
Despite being a well-known and established choreographer, Bradley never received credit for choreographing a show with a white cast in America.
In 1930, Bradley recieved his first choreographic credit for Jessie Matthew's production Ever Green at the Adelphi Theatre.
Bradley opened his own dancing school in the West End, influencing an entire generation of performers.
