This summer vacation period, the libraries will be here to support your studying. You can continue to get help by using our Live Chat service or contacting us directly.

Vacation loans

  • All eligible items borrowed from Wednesday 29 May will be due back at the earliest on Monday 9 September
  • Any eligible items you currently have on loan will update to a due date of Monday 9 September when they next automatically renew

Research shows that being in green spaces can reduce anxiety, improve the immune system, and that regular contact with nature promotes better mental health.

So if you're planning on studying with us over the Summer Vacation why not take your breaks in the Royal Fort Gardens? From the Arts and Social Sciences Library it is only a 3 minute walk and from Wills Memorial it is 5 minutes!

Which Libraries and Study Spaces are open?

All libraries remain open over the summer, but with reduced hours:

  • Arts and Social Sciences Library 8am-8pm, including weekends
  • All other libraries will be open 9am-5pm, Mondays to Fridays, but will be closed at the weekends.

Study Spaces that will be open:

  • Beacon House, 8am-10pm, including weekends
  • Senate House, 8am-10pm, closed at weekends 

Study Spaces that will be closed: Hawthorns and Grace Reeves.

 

Wellbeing

August Bank Holiday

For the bank holiday and university closure day, 26th and 27th August, the following sites will be open:

  • Arts and Social Sciences Library - 8am to 8pm
  • Beacon House - 8am to 10pm

All other sites will be closed.
