Law Societies receive multiple nominations in student law society awards

University of Bristol student law societies have received multiple nominations in the first ever student law society awards. The new competition is an initiative of LawCareers.net and is sponsored by DWF LLP. Our student societies received the following nominations:

Best Careers Event (University of Bristol Law Club) (sponsored by Charles Russell Speechlys LLP)
Best Society for Aspiring Barrister (University of Bristol Bar Society) (sponsored by The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple)
Best Social Event (University of Bristol Law Club) (sponsored by Addleshaw Goddard)
Best Law Society Overall (University of Bristol Law Club) (sponsored by Clyde & Co)

Bristol along with Manchester attracted the highest number of nominations. The winners will be announced in an awards ceremony in London on March 26th.

Speaking about the success of the student law societies, Head of the Law School, Professor Joanne Conaghan, commented 'our student law societies are really special. They really of the extra mile for our
students. It is just a pleasure to work with them'.

President of the UBLC, Miles Pope said "The UBLC Committee are absolutely delighted with the nominations that we have received. It is extremely humbling to get such great recognition for the hard work of both the current committee and committees that precede us. We are extremely grateful to every UBLC member, especially those who filled out the survey, for making our Society so successful. We believe that these nominations are testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone within the UOB Law School and we very much hope to do the School proud by winning at least one of the awards".

Bar society President, Spencer Turner was equally enthusiastic, commenting, "The University of Bristol Bar Society are thrilled to receive the nomination for ‘Best Society for Aspiring Barristers’. It is a real validation of all of the hard work put in by the committee throughout the year. I want to thank every single person who is a member of our Society, and to all of those who took the time to fill in our survey. Thank you to the Law School of their continued support and guidance throughout the year".
